Are Corriente saddles good quality?
It’s a good manageable weight, durable, and secure. Whether I am ranch rodeoing, pasture roping, or even running the barrel pattern in it, nothing beats it. My wade fits everything great and I can do 12+ hour days in it no problem! I can’t wait to eventually get a custom one (or two) done by Corriente!

Corriente Saddle
I lucked out, as it is quite rare to find a nice wade north of the border (especially for my budget), when I found a Corriente wade I purchased second hand at Irvine’s Tack & Western Wear in Crossfield, AB Canada in winter 2017. I rope heavy and break rank colts in it, and I LOVE IT!! It’s a good manageable weight, durable, and secure. Whether I am ranch rodeoing, pasture roping, or even running the barrel pattern in it, nothing beats it. My wade fits everything great and I can do 12+ hour days in it no problem! I can’t wait to eventually get a custom one (or two) done by Corriente! Everyone is too wrapped up in the fancy names and fads in the horse industry these days – I’ll never get rid of my Corriente, ever.

This is my first corriente saddle and I am VERY pleased with it. I purchased the CSR 1140 Corriente Strip Down Association Wade Horn Saddle, and had a few modifications to it including running W trim and a Cheyenne roll instead of a straight up cantle. Needless to say it arrived early at 28 days so I was definitely happy about that. the quality is no $3000 saddle of course, however for $850 I was very surprised at the craftsmanship and leather. I’ve oiled it inside and out about 3 times now, and sitting next to my buddies roughout saddle you cant tell that much quality difference. I ridden in it about a month now pretty heavily, and roped the first steer of the season with it and it stayed true to what I need. also I was happy to see that corriente had a 7″ gullet option as I ride a lot of wide mustangs so it fits perfect. I will definitely plan of getting another corriente when the time comes. Thank you.

I ordered their wade saddle over a year a ago. It is not a 2500.00 soft as can be saddle but the leather took oil evenly and it softened up/ broke in pretty fast. ( I did twist the fenders with a broom handle and let it set for a few days in a hot shed, after being oiled) The saddle has held up great and I do not baby my tack! It has gotten wet a number of times and has shown no ill effects. There are a few down falls to this saddle tho, at least in my opinion. For myself it is too heavy. 45+lbs to much for my ol back and a 18 hh horse. I also found that the tree/seat was to wide for my butt….I like a narrower feel…. But I am a girl! I have had other male friends try it out and they have all said how much they like it, how good it feels, that I’m nuts the seat is perfect,etc. I don’t think there is a much better saddle out there for the $$ The leather is heavy,well stitched,and with some oil breaks in just fine. I also loved the fact that if for any reason I did not like it they would take it back. I guess without being able to touch a saddle or sit in it before buying what more can you ask for? I would rather be out the shipping for a saddle than unhappy with a sore a**.
